IQOO, a leader in innovative technology solutions, aimed to introduce the IQOO Neo 7 (5G) smartphone to the market in a unique and engaging way. By leveraging the capabilities of the Alexa platform, the goal was to educate users about the phone’s key features while offering an interactive and informative experience.



 Launching a new smartphone comes with the challenge of effectively communicating its standout features to potential buyers. The Alexa voice platform provided an opportunity to engage users through interactive conversations, allowing them to learn about the phone’s capabilities in an engaging manner.


To address this challenge, Boltd developed the IQOO Store Alexa skill. The skill’s functionality was designed to provide users with information about the phone’s four standout features: MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Processor, 120 Watt Flash Charge, 64 MP O.I.S. Camera, and motion control.

Skill Flow

  • Users initiate the skill by saying “Alexa, open IQOO Store.”
  • Alexa delivers a warm welcome message and introduces the user to the IQOO Neo 7 (5G).
  • The user is presented with the four key features of the phone.
  • Users can select a specific feature to learn more about.
  • Alexa provides detailed information about the selected feature.
  • After presenting all features, the skill invites the user to participate in a quiz.
  • Alexa asks a quiz question related to the features, allowing users to test their knowledge.
  • Following the quiz, users are given the option to add the IQOO Neo 7 (5G) to their Amazon cart.
  • If users agree, the product is added to their cart; otherwise, the skill concludes with a farewell message.

Enhancing User Experience

Go-To-Market Approach

Amazon created awareness for the skill in various ways. They promoted it on the Alexa skill store header billboard as a feature as well as their weekly “Skills Newsletter”. Not just that, they promoted it on their M-shop. Users could simply tap on the mic icon on the Amazon shopping app on Android phones and summon the skill by saying a limited time magic phrase, “Alexa, open IQOO store”. The overall effort was further amplified through advertising on Amazon.
